With well over 200 users the TIMS system is put through its paces daily. "TIMS is integrated with an external courier's web service, which handles Tesco’s handheld devices with Herbert’s swap out program in Excel. Similar integration exists for the Coop and Morrisons with transaction history. We have engineers who photograph their work and, using web based functionality, link back to TIMS for invoicing and service tracking. We see the TIMS upgrades enabling us to build a strong integrated system for the present and the future," explains Farrow. "TIMS 1.5 and 2.0 compare well with Sage, the distribution and depth of ledgers and core handling are superior," he adds. "When taking into account the purchase price, implementation and maintenance plus modification costs, it did not add up. We are very knowledgeable around TIMS and the additional training and familiarization would be an additional cost. We also know that any new software will have a negative effect on the business whilst it is being bedded in. All in all the ROI to move to another system just does not stack up."
The Herbert Group will be upgrading to TIMS2 mid 2009 as they add to their own products and services and see TIMS delivering a solid data handling system to support their company development.
